Case Studies

The MES Planning coursework is largely done and the approved research phase is upon me. The project, Retrofitting Concrete Utopias: Climate Change Adaptation for Mid-Century Housing Stock, is, perhaps, ambitious, but the fieldwork has been planned and my prospective case studies in Europe have been identified. This is what I have so far to visit in April and May, 2023 (feel free to follow the links, and write me if you have more I should look at, or will be around to join me for walk abouts at the sites):

The complex takes the form of two tower blocks of 26 and 30 storeys, and a 12-18 storey linear ‘bar’ building more than a kilometre long.
